I sometimes feel like other people have a single thing they can introduce themselves with that kind of defines them. It could be their role at work, their favorite hobby, or something about their family or community volunteering.
But I’m not a person who tends to have favorites. Or a consistent role in my work or community life. My favorite hobbies are reading, research, jigsaw puzzles, running science fiction conventions, starting non-profits, and theater. My jobs have included Tech Theater, Human Factors Engineering, Teaching, Editing, Research, Grant and Research Proposal Writing, Township Commissioner, and handling a petting zoo.
What am I? I’m an organizer, and a lifelong learner.
I’ve hit the point in my life of learning where I’d like to collect lessons learned in a single place. One that encourages others to engage with it, and with me. I have a BA in history because how we got here is integral to understanding what here is. I have a masters in Systems Design Engineering because I wanted to know how to address hard problems, and make the world a better place. Especially for my daughter, and all of your children, too.
I hope you will join me in this journey.
